Beanie & gloves, cap & sunnies

Winter is over.
In this update some new ways to entertain myself during the morning walk.

Walking.
Springtime is here. Time to pack away the beanie and fingerless gloves and break out the cap and sunnies. Morning starts early here in Queensland with the sun up early and starting to warm up enough to get out in shorts and t-shirt.

I am planning to keep a lookout for excellent and interesting gardens along my walk and see what I can recognise plant wise. I may even feature a picture or two in coming updates.

I did see an enterprising local "Fruit stall" honest box selling Mulberries for $1. There was a chilli bin on a camp chair and a sign on the verge. At first I thought it was  a kerbside collection item, and I am thinking the owner was a bit game putting that out and expecting it to still be there later. It didnt appear to be secured in any way. Might drive past later and see if its still there. Brought back memories of Steven and I selling veg at the top gate many years ago.

Keeping a count of the identifiable dogs out and about. My favourite are three lots of Huskies. One large, one medium and a pair of medium / small so far. The single medium I have seen most often just up on Sumners Road where I cut through from Estate Road. The owner pauses and the dog sits before crossing the road, and seems like its a good natured dog. Also regularly see "Chester" a very well natured standard poodle with our neighbour. Most dog owners seem to be doing the right thing and cleaning up the dog mess, but clearly some are not which is a bit inconsiderate and annoying.

Magpies are out and about and have been cautious to not make any sudden or aggressive moves when passing them, its supposedly swooping season coming up. I am not sure if you are supposed to maintain eye contact or just ignore them. The last thing i want is an altercation with one of them.

Might start noting the birdlife along my trek path as well. Did see Kookaburra the other morning, but unfortunately it had laughed its final laugh.

Medication.
No Change to the schedule or positive impact..

Research.
Still on the lookout for information. Found another Australia NZ private chat group on FB so have subscribed to see what info that is worthy of sharing.

Joining in with others.
With Covid still impacting the social aspects of day to day - am carefully selecting activities and will continue to do so. Signing up to meetings etc run but Parkinson's Queensland and learning some interesting things.

Pilates.
Soon I will get the program activities names sorted in my mind, so far all i can recall is the Scooter. Getting the hang of the program and starting to get my mind in gear with the settings etc.

Social Day Out.
With a few events in the pipeline, will try and make a trivia night next.....Still like to get out to the pub and have a beer with mates especially the 4101 crew.

Garden.
Some if my plant are starting to produce. The tomatoes are climbing up the fence lattice and the first pink cauliflower is ready to harvest. Need to plant out the mint and also plant the spuds this weekend. I am also going to need to work out where to put the recycled solar water heater panels to get them near to the pool so we can warm up the water a bit. I better also order the solar powered pump.

Work.
Still busy with a few new projects coming in this month. A mix of web and development, plus a couple of back office systems. People finding me from everywhere. All well with client meetings generally, but note that unusually at one I must have been more nervous than I thought resulting in a quick change to mouse, as I was having fine control issues with the touch pad on the laptop. Nothing to worry too much about, but in terms of full disclosure (to myself) I am writing this down.  I also sweated a bit at the same meeting - that's also rare for me in a meeting situation. The client couldn't tell as its wasn't outwardly obvious. I schedule meetings to be earlier in the dopamine period so don't think that was the issue, but will monitor in case it's a trend that repeats or was a one off.

Still so far so good.
Same Same. Getting into the groove of new normal - the COVID19 new normal and my "PARKDIS20" new normal. I figured it might need a short snappy code :)

And that is all for just now - keep a lookout for the next post.
